HSE Medical Cards & GP Visit cards

Under 6 s – Free GP Care Scheme

Children up to their 6th birthday are entitled to free visits to a GP. To be covered you must register for the card, visit www.gpvisitcard.ie  To complete the process, you will need the child’s PPS, your own PPS and the name of the GP.   We would ask that you register under Dr Caroline O Connor – number 53628.

 

Over 70 s – Free GP Care Scheme

Everyone age 70 and over, ordinarily resident in Ireland and regardless of income is entitled to register for a free GP visit card which will cover GP visits. The easiest way to obtain this card is to register online at www.gpvisitcard.ie We would ask that you register under Dr Caroline O Connor – number 53628.

 

Medical Cards

If you are applying for a medical card, the most efficient way is to do so online at www.hse.ie Eligible patients will receive a card quicker than a manual application. The online form also prompts you to submit a correct application.

Some services provided by the practice are not covered under the Medical Card scheme and will incur a fee.

These include, examinations and report relating to insurance, or medico legal matter, pre-employment medicals, driving medicals, school entry, or sports clubs’ examinations, routine blood tests, some screening and travel vaccinations.
